Easy terrain, relatively easy to find. Placed here primarily for the wonderful historic value of the area and personal sentimental reasons.
My first hide! Happy hunting and enjoy the rich history of the area!
If you enjoy exploring the wonderful, old historic cemeteries that were established in Indian Territory (later Oklahoma Territory), you'll love this one. My Great-Great Grandfather and his spouse are both buried in this cemetery along with many other of my ancestors. Great-Great Grandad served in the Civil War (Co. L of the 8th Mo. Cavalry), and was one of the original settlers of the area, homesteading 1/4 section of land in the land run of April 22, 1889. His monument is one of the many civil war veteran's monuments located in this cemetery (the simple, white, round-top stones that show the man's unit of service). You'll notice that many of the graves here date prior to 1900, and also that there are many infants and young children buried here in the 1903 to 1906 years. Many of these were the result of the massive epidemic of typhoid fever in Oklahoma Territory in those days.
Please respect the sacred ground you are on, those of us with loved ones here appreciate it.
