How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center in Troy, Michigan. Parking is available at the entrance to the nature center but be prepared to walk to the caches. There is an admission fee of $1.00 per person.

The nature center rests on 100 acres of land and has approximately 2 miles of trails. *****All of the geocaches at the nature center can be found within 5 or so feet from the trails – there is no need for bushwhacking.***** Trails are well marked and vary between paved, boardwalk, and wood chipped. Drinking fountains and restrooms are located at the nature center facility. Wildlife is abundant, deer especially!

Nature center hours are as follows:

Tuesday – Saturday: 8:30-4:30
Sunday: 12:00-5:00
Monday : Closed

This is the nature center’s first attempt at placing geocaching on the trails. Please let us know if our coordinates were off as conditions were unfavorable when we placed our caches. We will gladly update them accordingly! This is a traditional cache that contains nature related trinkets. There is also a log book and pen in the cache.

This cache was not designed to be extremely tricky. Let your “geosense” guide you and remember, it’s not far off the trails. Happy hunting!
