Geocache Description:

Aprox. 5km hike, most of which has been flagged or recognizable, made difficult by some wet areas and dense woods where no clear path exists.

A map with a pre-planned route is a must, check the list of photos & maps for additional notes. The trail now has a building plunked on its start so must be accessed from behind it at WGS 84 N 44° 51.272' W 63° 32.545'. Aproximately 5km trip runs southerly for about 4km, about halfway crossing at wet area by footbridge at N 44° 50.510' W 63° 32.402' and picking up again at a crown marker post at N 44° 50.460' W 63° 32.374', continuing to the end of trail 1 at N 44° 49.496' / W 63° 32.177'.

From this point one must traverse a wet area easterly and go northerly around a steep cliffed area to reach the starting point of trail 2. This stretch to Trail 2, while less than a half km gives the trail its rating of difficulty, neither the wet areas or dense brush are flagged well, probably accounted for by subsequent visitors unsure of the best path. Starting point of Trail 2, some sort of firebreak or survey cut begins at N 44° 49.560' W 63° 31.945' and can be followed, even as it angles away and returns to the goal of the Sibley Stone. The Sibley stone itself is a perched erratic bolder that one can easily crawl under to the geocache.

The Sibley Stone has been referenced by William S. Crooker, author of Tracking Treasure: In Search of East Coast Bounty, in a possible Masonic/Templar context, named after the forrester who discovered it and about a 2 hour hike from the starting point. It has been a sought after, now found, location by the Megalith Hunters of the Great Northeast (Nova Scotia Chapter).

Cache contents, at time of setting, include logbook & pencil, Spice Girls sticker, Appleton Rum golfball, a small back scratcher and Bolyston/Guysborough orange quartz crystals (also around the cache).
