HISTORIC HAILE HOMESTEAD
This site has one of the oldest houses in Alachua County, FL.
The Haile family moved here from Camden, South Carolina in 1854 and established a large cotton plantation that they named 'Kanapaha' (sound familiar?).
The mansion is over 6,200 square feet and was completed in 1986.
This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and it was restored to its original beauty in the 1990s.
It is not necessary to enter the property to access this cache. Just pull off the highway and you can walk a short distance to the cache hiding place.
