Batchelor with a "T" Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team_Field: Sadly we are going to put this one to rest... it appears someone else wishes to place one in the area and it will be a couple more weeks before we could get it organized... during the winter months a grader went thru and cleaned out some of the sage... so are guessing thats what happened to it...

Geocache Description:

This is a medium sized cache, camo'd in black so should be easy to find in the snows. When you search in winter months, please use the path that is more or less behind the large sign. This helps preserve the area and in winter keeps the tracks a bit disguised.

We are Batchelor residents and have wondered about the spelling... and thanks to google and City of Kamloops found this bit of information
Batchelor Hill 733 m (2405 ft) prominence: 128 m, is a hill overlooking the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, immediately northwest of the city and north of the neighbourhood of Brocklehurst. It is the namesake of the Batchelor Hills aka Batchelor Heights neighbourhood and also of the small Batchelor Range, which runs north from it on the side of the Kamloops Plateau but does not include it.

Name origin
Named early in this century for Owen Salisbury Batchelor, having previously been known as "Garde Laffertie" for the man in charge of the HBC horse range. Batchelor had farmed the upper Salmon River valley in 1885, but moved to Kamloops ten years later, and became jailer until succumbing to Klondike fever. On his return he ran several mining ventures, including the erection of a stamp mill just below these hills. He died in 1933. His son commented that the family fortune would have been made had Dad saved the money spent on staking claims throughout the district.

The cache when hidden contained a few TB's and coins ... and an assortment of swag. It would be nice to have this for a TB base on the North Shore.
