Silverforsen är namnet på den stora forsen under järnvägsbron.
Gångbron över ån var förr endast en enkel spång med räcke på ena sidan. Den tillkom för att
mörrumsborna från den västra sidan skulle kunna komma över ån till Silverforsens mejeri
för att köpa mjölk och ost.
Mejeriet, som var ganska litet, brann 1920.
Efter branden fanns här en tid en mekanisk verkstad ägd av Holmqvist. Numer huserar IFÖ i dessa lokaler.
