The rails and ties were removed a few years ago and were replaced by a smooth blacktop walking/bike path when the Polson Hill section of Highway 93 was reconstructed.
The cache can be accessed by foot or bicycle from the bottom or top of Polson hill. At the bottom of the hill park at the beginning of Ridgewater Drive (N 47 40.871, W 114 07.291) there is a good parking spot for 2-3 cars. Head south about half a mile to cache.
At the top of the hill park at the northern end of Commerce Drive (N 47 40.065, W114 06.504). Head north along the trail about .6 mile to the cache. When you get to the two big rocks marking the overlook take the deer trail to the left past the rocks. Cache is close.
Enjoy the exercise and the beautiful views of Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains. There is a lookout and bench close by. Original cache contents: New Zealand card and tiki. FTF prize is a NZ dollar coin.
