This cache is located at Flanner's Beach Recreational Area/Campground just off one of the trails. The terrain is lightly wooded, and has a dirt walking trail close to the cache location.
Cache is a bison tube with only enough room for a log. Forestry Service and Campground Host have given permission to place cache, and to allow geocachers to search for the cache even when the recreational area/campground is closed. You might want to wear brightly colored clothing during hunting season, and also a pair of waterproof boots. When the recreational area/campground is closed, park on the side of the road by the locked, white gate. When the recreational area/campground is open, park in the parking lot by the recreational area past the campground. Do not park at the campground. Start at the trailhead and follow the trail for almost 1/2 mile. Trailhead can be found at the following coordinates: N 34 59.079 W 076 57.002.
Update 1/29/17: I've been meaning to update the cache page for a while now. Due to all the downed trees from the various hurricanes the last part of the journey to the cache will be easier by walking along the beach.
