Park at N 41° 43.822, W 072° 30.230. This cache is part
of the Buckingham Reservoir series of 13 caches. Most of the cache
locations are on or near well-worn trails, however, some of them
may be extra challenging during certain seasons of the year.
There is an abundance of wildlife in the area. It’s quite
possible to encounter beaver, bobcats, coyotes, deer, fishers, red,
grey and yellow foxes, four varieties of owls, snapping turtles,
timber rattlesnakes, various water snakes, weasels and the very
rare occasional wandering bear. Exercise caution and remember that
this is their home.
Chill for a while at this 10 ft series of cascades that
may be along your journey. Bring lunch.
BuckResv - Chill Canyon is a multicache consisting of six clue
stages, each a micro sized container, and a final stage, which is
regular sized. All of the stages are listed here as waypoints.
Throughout the cache, you will be given coordinates A - F, which
will be substituted into the key: N 41° 43.ABC W 072° 29.DEF
to determine the location of the final stage. You will also get
code digits to substitute into MN - OP
- QR. The code digits will be required to open the final
cache. Instructions for opening the combination lock can be found
here
Warning! This cache is intended to challenge the
experienced cacher; the old Chill times 6. Each stage is different
from the others, not your usual hide and difficult! Prepare
yourself and bring your persistence.
Special Equipment: Boots, a friend, a toothpick to extract the
paper slips from each stage, spare persistence.
Winter Friendly? Stage 6 is not.
Caution: It's easy to get hurt here in cold weather, either
on icy rocks or by falling in the brook. Yes, you will need to
cross it! Bring an abundance of caution. If you fall in during the
winter, the day is done, fly for the car quickly. We wish you the
best of luck.
