Geocache Description:

Please be careful to pull right off the road when you are parking for this cache. The cache is a small pill bottle with a log, and some trade items. The cache is not inside the fenced pump station.

Please ensure the cache is properly closed and place it back where it was found.

This cache was not part of the pump station series as it is not part of the Abbotsford water system. The waterworks district during the 1995 amalgamation of Abbotsford and Matsqui chose to continue on its own rather than be served by the City of Abbotsford’s water distribution system.

The Clearbrook Waterworks District has always provided water servicing to the area which includes 13,000 of Abbotsford’s 134,000 residents.

The Clearbrook Waterworks District sources its water from three wells which tap into the Abbotsford Sumas Aquifer.

2009 was the second year in a row Clearbrook received the top prize for municipal tap water at the 19th annual Berkeley Springs International Water competition in West Virginia, the world’s largest competition for drinking water quality. Clearbrook had previously collected the silver in 2007.

The Berkeley Springs competition included close to 100 entries from 16 U.S. states, and countries including Canada, Japan, Ecuador, New Zealand, Macedonia and Bosnia.
