Woods of Perdido River
Nice woods; Northwest Florida Water Management District.
This cache is on the Perdido River Wildlife Management Area. WMAs are public, multi-use areas. Public access is year-round, although vehicle access may be restricted at times. Foot entry is always allowed. The main entry to this area is on hwy 90, directly across from the truck weigh station.
After you enter the park, stay on the main access road until you see the sign for Sand Landing.
The parking for this cache is at the day use area at the foot of Sand Landing road. The trailhead leaves from the picnic area and is designated Foot traffic only. At the landing you will find picnic tables, BBQ grills, a public boat ramp, fishing area, plenty of shade, ample parking and a porta-potty.
Watch out for rattlesnakes on a warm day.
I have talked with several fish & game wardens while placing these caches, and they seem fascinated at the game. If you run across one of these guys, give them a warm greeting. They are our friends.
You are looking for a regular size ammo box, original contents are 1 “Catch & Release” travel bug, Alaska Mountain log-able coin, dvd, bungie, book, fingernail clippers, keychains, cool pen, various other trading items. There are other caches on the management area, boat and canoe launches and miles of hiking trails. Bring a lunch and spend the day in the woods of northwest Florida.
