Geocache Description:

Explore a cool Ravine in Redmond.

George has always wondered about the various ravines that cut into the hillside between Redmond and Kirkland and has enjoyed exploring them. This cache gives you a reason to explore one of them. Ever since 148th Ave was extended from 85th to Willows Road, George has wondered what the woods were like to the west of 148th. The answer is "very cool!"

Park at the suggested location and head south on 148th, past the bus stop to the concrete blocks. Follow the clear trail into the woods. Unfortunately the area near the road has been used as a bit of a junkyard over the years but you will be past that pretty quickly. When you see the large fallen tree across the stream you will know it is time to make the crossing yourself. Pick up the rough trail and follow it into the ravine. Be carefull as the trail can be very slippery. Proper footwear is a must! No flip-flops! Young children are not recommended but should be fine with proper adult supervision and assistance.

Enjoy the urban wilderness and be carefull you don't slip and find yourself at the bottom as you make your way up the ravine. The cache is an ammo can hidden under a large log next to the trail. You do not need to leave the trail to retrieve it. Please try to recover the cache carefully so it is not readily visible.

Oh, and Elroy says to remind you that you do not need to leave the trail to retrieve the cache. ;)
