UPDATE: Due to a clash with the Illawarra
Event I've moved this event to 10:00am Sunday.
Last years event was so successful with more than 50 attendees, I
thought we'd do it all over ago again. Since then a lot more people
have start geocaching, so let's see if we can get more than 100
attendees this time.
- When: Sunday 21st February, 10am
- Where: Food Court at the Rouse Hill Town
Centre
The coordinates should take you to the south/eastern end of the
main food court. Weather permitting the event will be held in the
outside section. If it's raining we'll bring it inside. The food
court is fairly quiet at this time of the morning so the event
should be easy to find. This location is friendly to anyone who is
disabled.
About the event:
The goal of this event is to:
- Discuss geocaching
- Meet many of the geocachers you've seen online or in cache
logs
- Exchange and discover coins and travel bugs
- Find some newly released geocaches and have a good chance of
some first to finds
- Win some prizes
- Find some unique and interesting caches. e.g. Wherigo
- Have fun.....
Don't forget to grab brunch while you're at the event. Please mark
a "Will attend" if you plan on attending the event. It's also good
practice to place the event on your watch list for any updates.
Don’t forget to make an “Attended” log entry afterwards as this
counts as a find
If you are new to Geocaching please come and ask questions. If
you are a veteran please come and share your experiences. Events
are always great place to pick up hints to those difficult caches,
enhance your geocaching skills, improve your search techniques,
learn from experienced geocachers and make some great new
friends.
If anyone would like their travel bugs or geocoins taken to the
USA bring them to the event. I also have some travels bugs and
geocoins that were brought from the US that will be at the
event.
If anyone would like to place some caches for the event, just let
me know and I'll make sure we don't use the some spots. If you have
anything you can add to the event send me an email.
More updates to follow.............
