I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Geocache Description:

Located in Indian Ledge Park in Trumbull, CT. Many unmarked biking trails but we stick to the one along the river that is generally marked Blue. If you are a Trumbull resident park in lot near playground/water park. If not a Trumbull resident, park on Riverside Dr, waypoint N41 16.889 W073 13.263.

The park entrance is located at N41 16.845 W073 13.208, or 178 Whitney Ave. If you are not a Trumbull resident, I recommend not risking it and parking in the Park as I have been ticketed before.
We are used to parking next to the river, next to the bridge on Riverside Dr. We carefully cross Whitney Ave to the trail that initially runs along the river with 2 dogs and children ages 9,11, and 13. This park sees a lot of Mountain Bikers, families, and doggies (sometimes leashed but often not leashed). This park is reasonably level with a few steep places. Most trails are unmarked and you are constantly changing trails without knowing it.
Our favorite trail, as mentioned above, turns away from the river for a bit but after a short steep descent, you will be at a river intersection. We always enjoy finding the best way to cross the wide but shallow, rocky intersecting river perpendicular to the larger river. Once across, we follow the river passing through rock walls, over organic bike jumps, past a bridge....all while dreaming of casting flies to the hungry trout lurking in the shallow pools. This is 1 of 4 Xmas caches and our second one to hide. This was hidden by Madi, an 11 year old animal loving adventurer that loooovvveeeessss to fish!
