Ushijima Shinto shrine
The Ushijima Shinto shrine is created for ..[**] outlook.. two years (860 years). For a total village shrine in this place district, a region that almost near half the south and is very wide in Sumida Ward is parishioner.
[Matsukami] is Susa [kore] [otokoinochi] ([mikoto] of [susanoo]), [tenkoreho] day life ([mikoto] of [amenohohi]), and [****] imperial prince life (swallow on trust of [sadatokishin]).
It moved to a present place in 1932 after Great Kanto Earthquake though it seemed to have been near a back and Sakura-bashi of Gufuku-ji Temple today before.
The building of a Shinto shrine is the one with the distinctive character of a total [hinokiken] present making, and the torii in front of the main shrine is a wooden Miwa torii. It is the one that a small torii adhered as the Miwa torii is ..torii at the center.. right and left, and very an unusual shape also in the whole country.
The Ushijima Shinto shrine is written, "Cow presence" when the map of Edo period is seen and there is a belief that coils round the cow from of old as its name suggests now. It is said that it recovers when the part and the same that there is an image of the cow that is called "[**ushi] (pat [ushi])" in the right side toward the main shrine, and my body is bad are patted.
In addition, there is an image that coils round image of Korean dog "[**ushi]" that doesn't become it and the cow in front of the kitchen knife tomb (memorial tomb of the cow that became meat) and the main shrine.

牛嶋神社
牛嶋神社は、貞観二年（860年）創建。本所地区の総鎮守で、墨田区のほぼ南半分に近いたいへん広い地域が氏子となっています。
御祭神は須佐之男命（すさのおのみこと）、天之穂日命（あめのほひのみこと）、貞辰親王命（さだときしんのうのみこと）。
以前は弘福寺の裏手、今の桜橋の付近にあったそうですが、関東大震災後の昭和七年に現在の場所に移転しました。
社殿は総檜権現作りの風格のあるもので、本殿前の鳥居は木製の三輪鳥居。三輪鳥居というのは中央の鳥居の左右に小さい鳥居の付いたもので、全国でも非常に珍しい形です。
江戸時代の地図を見ると、牛嶋神社は「牛御前」と書かれていまが、その名の通り古くから牛にまつわる信仰があります。本殿に向かって右側には「撫牛(なでうし)」と呼ばれる牛の像があり、自分の体の悪い部分と同じところを撫でると治ると言われています。
そのほかにも包丁塚(食肉になった牛の慰霊塚)、本殿前には狛犬ならぬ「狛牛」と、牛にまつわる像があります。
