Lincoln's Birthday Bash Event Cache

As noted prior, thanks to those who donated door prizes and also thanks to Allanon for checking eveyone in and to the 3bobs for checking the quizes. Appreciated the help.

I leave you with these most famous words from our 16th President, first spoken on November 19, 1863, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Senator Charles Sumner said during his eulogy of Lincoln that Lincoln was mistaken that "the world will little note, nor long remember what we say here." Rather, Sumner spoke, "The world noted at once what he said, and will never cease to remember it. The battle itself was less important than the speech."

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Last year I hosted an event where there was a contest to let the attendees enter names for the event. The winning entry came from >---^---:) & Ashley. The event just happened to be on Washington's Birthday and the winning entry was Washington's Birthday Bash. This spawned an idea, so I now invite you to attend Lincoln's Birthday Bash!

The event is open to all: those who have been caching for just days or almost ten years.

There, of course, will be a couple of door prizes and a short quiz (with prizes, including a very non-geocaching prize for one lucky winner) on some obscure trivia about our 16th President. Just prior to the door prize drawing we will have news and updates from the WSGA and also a representative(s) of COWWS will talk about upcoming events and Geowoodstock 8.
