Geocache Description:

Another easy hide in my favorite park. Limited parking available at head of trail. No need to leave the trail or do any bushwacking. Please treat the plants with care. Coordinates are averaged. If you find a significant difference, please let me know. Much thanks to JavaDuck for allowing me access to this site. I tip my hat to you! Congratulations to rmnrm, FTF!

This cache is dedicated to Francis and Ilene Marckx who, in 1983, donated the first 37 acres of wetland upon which this park is built. Ilene loved this wetland with all of her heart and loved sharing it's wonders with all who came to visit. She was an extraordinary teacher. To make sure this treasure was preserved for generations to come, she and Francis founded The Friends of the Hylebos Wetland, which still works to preserve the ecosystem along West Hylebos Creek to this day. Sit here a bit, admire the beautiful rock that commemorates the Marckx family, and say a few words of thanks. The cache is a small, black-camo, plastic box, large enough to hold one or two tiny trade items, but not a pen. BYOP to sign the log. After you find the cache, take a little time to walk the 1.1 mile boardwalk loop and enjoy the rest of the park.
