Geocache Description:

This is the first of a series of three caches which we have placed near the fire trail which runs at the top of Mount Louisa.

You can access these caches by going directly up hill from a point of your choosing, however, if you want to use the fire trail park your vehicle at S19 16.489 E146 43.592. We suggest that if you choose to use the direct route proceed from a point along the Bayswater Road Side- the Federation Hill end of Mount Louisa is private property (Defence Department) so you can't come in from that end. We use the term "fire trail" in the broadest sense of the term- it is a very rough, rutted and difficult track. Whatever time of year you choose to take this walk- stock up on water and snacks and make sure that you wear good shoes, sunscreen and hats.

These caches are our attempt to introduce views of our city that few of you will have seen. Enjoy the wildlife as you will get to see kangaroos, the resident eagles and maybe the odd goat. By the way as much as we love the flora watch out for the chiny apple trees as they have nasty thorns.

The cache container is a piece of down pipe with a screw top on one end.

This cache belongs to our oldest cache-kid "Numnut" who asks that you leave "blue" swaps and recommends this spot as a beaut place for a drink and a rest- please enjoy.
