Our Track Log
While on a hike to log Sleepy_hollow's "Three Valley Viewpoint"
cache
GC22NV5 , BVPete, as usual, continued on to the summit where he
discovered a survey marker (brass cap). The dilemma of discovering
a marker in a fine location is the desire to get it published
meaning a return visit to properly log the cap. This cache was
placed to give both Sleepy_hollow and BVPete an added incentive to
return to the hill and thank them for continuing to get us out to
these locations. It also creates another one of our favourite
caching 2 for 1's... "A Cache and a Cap"!
Be sure to check out the unique brass cap itself, "BCP459 - Morley
Boundary #3", which can be logged at
GC43F3.
This off trail cache can be accessed from provided parking location
on the north side of the Sibbald Creek Trail (Hwy 68). The hike
begins by utilizing a logging road and bridge crossing and then
veering left to the start of the off-trail hike (our ascent point
is provided). The chosen route crosses a cutblock which may be
extremely muddy from rain or run-off depending on the season and
then a fairly steep hike through a forest to the ridge. As always,
utilize caution and enjoy this off-trail hike.
The cache is a camo taped square 870mL Lock 'N' Lock with a ten
spot and a finder's card for the FTF, finder's cards for the next 9
finders, a log, pencils and the usual swag. Good luck!
Congratulations to j2d2 on
the FTF
