This is my first hide. It is a traditional-Cache which I have hidden off Gadpouch Road in the lower part of the Meshomasic State Forest. The Cache is a large lock-n-lock initially loaded with treasures for just in time for Valentine's Day!
Once upon a time, in the Land of Steady Habits, an amazing place existed…..I’ll call it the Lost City of Love. Tiny loving ones lived in the far reaches of the forest, near a beautiful stream. Deliberately and cooperatively, they’d created a tiny crystalline City which perfectly suited their diminutive height and their loving ways. Their perfect domain was decorated with symbols of enduring love and kindness, warmth and happiness.
One day the ground began to shake and they heard very loud crashing noises. Parts of their city were crashing down. Two of the tiny loving ones decided to explore and see what was destroying their land. So off they went terrified, running with clenched hands and journeyed cautiously across the beautiful stream and into the forest.
Eventually, they reached a clearing. It was horrifying to them. There were enormous metal monsters destroying everything and digging craters and large holes everywhere to get pieces of the beautiful cobalt. These monsters made an awful noise, belched noxious gases, and scared the tiny loving ones. They didn’t stay around to explore any more, but ran as fast as they could, back to their beloved Land.
Once there, they reported to their loving community what they’d seen. Everyone was saddened by the news, and they decided that they had no choice but to move far, far away but they could not take all of their treasures with them. So they hid the treasures in the nearby forest and hoped, that one day, another tribe of Loving Ones would discover the treasures they left behind.
