Geocache Description:

Just off highway 505 on a gravel county road.

This cache is dedicated to the immigrants that made the trip out West in a covered wagon. They came with a dream of finding a new home and a future for their families.

Many started out this way but didn't make it, they left their unmarked graves beside the trail. Those that did had their work cut out for them building a home, clearing the ground for planting crops and providing for their families.

As you look out over the field and see the hewn log building try to imagine what it look like before they cleared the land and built the structure here. Although this building probably isn't as old as when the first pioneers moved into the area it would represent what they would have done.

With nothing but a dream and a strong back these pioneers helped to build our nation to what it is today.

I talked with a descendant of the property and she said that her granddad at the age of 4 moved into the cabin in 1896. The property is still owned by the same family.
