UPDATE ****** Fences have went in. You will need to get thru
them to get off the road to all the caches out here now. *****
A little bit of a hike out across a nice part of the Southern
Nevada desert. Some loose rocks and a couple washes to get thru but
mostly flat to the end and even thats just a incline of a Alluvial
fan.
Out near the base of the Arrow Canyon
Mountain Range. I was looking for a place to put this cache out
here and when the other caches in the area popped up i figured this
would be a ok place and it would help you get more caches for the
hike. I put it up higher than brought it back down a little. I
wanted you to see the cool view from here to the mountain face
directly in front of you and see it looking North down the face.
Notice how the Layers(Striation) look and dip down into the earth
toward the north. The Arrow Canyon Range Fault runs along the west
face of this entire mountain range. Another section runs from West
side of HWY 93 under all these caches here and connects to the band
down the base of the range. The fault is thought to be in a younger
stage of joining with another fault. This could increase the fault
lenght and in return increase the possible magnitude if the whole
section would slip. A cross section dug into the fault has shown at
least 4 surface rupturing earthqaukes. Biggest possible is thought
to be a 6.8M. To read more go to

I wouln't try this one at night and watch for snakes in the
warmer months.
