I've noticed this road off of highway 11 before and wondered
where it went. Tonight as we left P.A. I spotted the other end of
it from highway 2. It was a little steep to head down in a car, but
the 4Runner handled it just fine. The road is less steep and is
better maintained from highway 11 westbound.
Looks like a nice quiet spot... I had wondered if this road was
ever part of the highway, but when I looked on the satellite view
of the area and followed this road northeast, eventually it shows
as a railway line (northeast of highway 3). Following the railway
to the southwest leads to St. Louis (passing where the ghost train
can be seen). If anyone remembers when the railway went by here,
please tell a story or two!
