Geocache Description:

Els estanyols de Mas Margall, situats al municipi d’Avinyonet de Puigventós, concretament a l’espai fluvial del Manol, ocupen una superfície d'unes 20 hectàrees. Es tracta d'una antiga gravera restaurada com a espai natural que conté 3 petits estanys, una salzeda, comunitats d'herbassars humits i jonqueres i una zona de pastura seca. L'espai deu el seu origen a l'extracció d'àrids que s'hi va realitzar aprofitant que la zona era una terrassa fluvial del riu Manol on, al llarg dels anys, s'havien anat dipositant materials al·luvials, emprats en el sector de la construcció. Actualment l’espai està inclòs a l'inventari de zones humides i la IAEDEN, a través d'un conveni amb el propietari, gestiona la zona estudiant i potenciant els seus valors naturals.

Mas Margall The ponds, located in the municipality of Avinyonet Puigventós specifically Manol into the river, covering an area of some 20 hectares. This is an old quarry restored as natural space that contains 3 small ponds, a Salzedo, reed beds and wet grassland communities and an area of dry grass. The area owes its origin to the extraction of aggregates that it was done utilizing the area was a river terrace river Manol where, over the years, had been deposited alluvial material, used in the construction sector. Currently the space is included in the inventory of wetlands and IAEDEN, through an agreement with the owner manages the area and enhancing the student its natural values.
