A chance to explore a lesser known county park, situated in a not so easy to find location.
This is a two stage multi, but finding the entrance to the park itself almost makes it a 3 stage! Don't attempt through the VA land, park has its own front door on the hudson.
Take this opportunity to check out this nice park. Couple of ballfields, play ground equipment in its own fenced in area, rain shelter, rest rooms, walking trail, summer activities and an awesome view of the Hudson make up this 40 plus acres of county park. One of 23 in our county, this one boasts a potential future for expansion. There was talk of making a second dog park here, possibly allowing camping, expanding the Hudson River Greenway Water Trail for kayakers and canoers past here with river access for pedestrians right from the park. The Hudson River Greenway walking trail may even be extended to this point from Wappinger Creek. These are all possibilities for future expansion, so come explore the park in its more natural state by finding this multi cache!
Stage 1 will bring you from the parking area past the more developed part of the park. You're looking for something magnetic, containing only the coord's to the final. Make sure you leave the coords in it for the next cacher, and rehide so it doesn't disappear.
The final stage is an enjoyable walk into the wooded area, and a short 20 pace bushwhack off the unmarked trail. Posted signs warn of no trespassing for motorized vehicles, so stay on foot. The cache is a large 50 cal ammo can filled with all kinds of goodies that I've amassed from the garage, the house, cub scout meetings, other caches etc. Hence the name! I'm sure you'll find something you'll want to trade for.
