GPS users are highly suggested to save progress along the way. Not doing so may mean having to repeat stops if the GPS crashes, GPS batteries die, etc.
iPhone and other App users are highly suggested to work the coarse without using other apps to maintain progress without loss. There is no "save" function. ADDITIONALLY, when the final coordinates are shown on the screen, do a 'frame grab' (simultaneously press the home button and power button on iPhones. On Android devices it may be the same, or slightly different (home+lock, or swiping the screen).
