A typical kayakers2 hide in beautiful Col. Roscoe Vanderwater
Conservation Area. That is to say it's APBJIAT!! As many cachers
who have completed our 10 cache Vanderwater series have noted,
"Yeah we do eat a lot of peanut butter!" Actually, our backyard
birds get most of it as Trudy makes up suet from a mixture of
crunchy peanut butter, lard, cornmeal & whole wheat
flour.
Ask two different birders how they pronounce Pileated & one
will say Pile..ated & the other will say Pil..e..ated. We
prefer the latter but take your pick.
We often see & photograph Pileated Woodpeckers in the area
of this cache...thus the title for it.
