Geocache Description:

Sleepy Hollow (LSC 11) is the eleventh cache in the Lake Sherburne Challenge. While resting at this location after placing the cache a deer came within 50 yards of me. You have only a few caches to go in the Lake Sherburne Challenge and the next cache will be Leave It To Beaver (LSC 12) which will be the most difficult cache to reach. Perhaps going to The Crossing first will allow you to reach Leave it to Beaver and remain dry.

Warning!!!
If your idea of geocaching is to drive down a road, pick up 200 caches in a day and have walked no more than 400 steps, burned 25 gallons of fuel and only 15 calories, then this is not for you.
If you’re looking for a chance to get out of doors, see some great views and attain the right to say I conquered The Lake Sherburne Challenge then this is the challenge for you. While placing these caches I came across multiple signs of wildlife, so don’t forget your camera.
Who’s up to the challenge?
The Lake Sherburne Challenge consists of 14 different caches spread out over a 5-mile loop. This challenge was laid out during the winter and will require snowshoes (recommended) or cross-country skis’ (rough terrain at times but is doable by cross-country skis’ with some route alterations). During the other three seasons the route will be longer due to your inability to walk on water although swimming is an option.
This challenge can be accomplished in a single day or it has been designed so that it can be broken into a couple of days. Each of the individual cache names is followed by a Lake Sherburne Challenge number (LSC number). For the easiest route, it is recommended that you do the caches in numerical order, rather than going to the next closest cache – this will assure that you will hit all of the caches and not miss any, requiring you to double back.

NOTE: In winter please be certain the the ice on the lake is safe. If there are no fresh snowmobile tracks on the lake it probably isn't safe and you should probably walk around the lake on the camp roads.
