Geocache Description:

Middle Tennessee Council, Elk River District, Adventures of Scouting, SCUBA.

Scouting offers the sort of adventures that many youth never get the opportunity to experience.  From cycling to climbing to SCUBA to caving, scouts get to explore their world.  This cache series is dedicated to the various activities that scouts can partake in.  Each cache, at its publishing, has a trading card that highlights one of the many adventures in scouting and an orienteering punch to punch an Adventures in Scouting score card.  This card can be downloaded at http://mtcbsa.org/assets/forms/AdventureofScoutingScoreCard.pdf.  Enjoy the adventure of Geocaching and experience some of the adventures of Scouting through this cache!

Elk River Boy Scout Camp Arrowhead is located in Franklin County, Tennessee on the southern banks of Woods Lake Reservoir.  While you are looking for this cache, take a moment to look around and enjoy the nice views of the lake and the surrounding area.  You can even bring your boat and enjoy the nice views from the lake.

Area Facts

Many rock bluffs exists on the lake's lower end, starting at the Morris Ferry Bridge and extending to the dam.  The upper end has a few steep banks, but flat areas and sloping hills dominate.  Shoreline development is minimal, limited to one marina and the Arnold Engineering Development Center.  There are 65 miles of shoreline.

Large mouth bass are the most popular game fish on Woods.  In fact, TWRA biologists rate Woods as one of the top three crappie lakes in TN based on per-acre production.  Most angler-caught crappie are in the 9.5- to 10-inch range.  An 11- to 12-incher is considered big.  Although largemouth are clearly the dominant black bass, smallmouth fishing on Woods is also highly rated.

Enjoy getting into the game, geocaching and finding this SCUBA Adventure Cache.  Please place cache back as found.
