Geocache Description:

Park by the Animal Shelter in Purcell and follow the ghut upwards. The cache is in an old ruins about halfway up the hill. Cache is in a medium size peanut jar hidden in the the walls of the old ruin.

Park by the Animal Shelter in Purcell and follow the concrete road on the northeastern side of the Animal Shelter. Adjacent to that little concrete road is the ghut. Jump down into the ghut and simply follow it upwards. It will take about 20 mins after you park and start walking to get to the old ruins. To find this you will have to climb up and around the rocks and waterfalls which is cool especially after its been raining. We have listed the terrain and difficulty as quite high simply because you need to have a car to get to the Animal Shelter and then the walk up the ghut is not like walking on a well trodden path! You have to scramble up and over the boulders, rock pools and small waterfalls. Unless you live in the BVI and have explored some of the ghuts its probably not a terrain you will be familiar with! Be careful, the rocks can be slippery. The ghut 'forks' next to the cemetery so take the left side at the junction and follow the ghut upwards. The cache is hidden in an old ruins which are fun to explore. We have no information about the ruins at the moment but will endevour to find out its history and place link to the information.
Its a nice fun, adventurous walk with the added bonus of exploring some ruins on top of finding a cache!
A note about the dogs on the way! They seem intimidating, but sadly if you raise your hand they run back in the dog houses.Sad because it means the owner obviously abuses them. So simply pick up a stick and wave it and they'll retreat. We'll post an alternative entry site that will avoid them soon.Happy hunting.
