Geocache Description:

I was looking through that old trunk of Sven and Inga's and found this baffling puzzle that Inga left for Sven.  I think I solved the clue that Inga set out for Sven but I've been unable to locate whatever it was that she left for Sven to find. I need your help in solving this  hundred year old mystery.

Here is the letter, the explanation of how to get the location out of the puzzle, and the puzzle itself.

  My darling Sven,

I know how much you enjoy my little puzzles so I hid another one while you were gone logging this winter.  This helps alleviate the loneliness of your absence and brings a smile thinking of you at the logging camp pushing the pieces of the puzzle around.  I can just hear you mumbling endearments under your breath as you work towards a solution.  I just wish I could be there to listen in person.

Solve the puzzle by putting the flags together. You can extract the numbers you need by adding the dots of the adjacent squares as I've laid out in this drawing.  Note the position of the US flag in the center.  That will set up the orientation of the puzzle.  Add up the dots adjacent to line joining the two puzzle segments.  That is the dots on both sides of the line.  I used the flags of the people from around here. The Finns from Esko, the Swedes and Norwegians from Proctor, all of us here in Minnesota.

The numbers should be inserted into these templates, the latitude is x.xx and the longitude is y.yy

N 46° 4x.xx1  W 92° 1y.yy0

I hope you enjoy this little distraction on those long nights as much I did setting it up.  I hid a surprise for you in the pine tree.  I just hope it is still there next spring.

   With love,

  Inga.
