This is one of a series of caches created for the purpose of introducing geocachers to the rich history, the extensive path network and the general scenic beauty of the Irvine Valley and surrounding area.
This is a fairly easy 'cache 'n dash' with parking just 30 metres from the hide.
Sorry, but despite its name, the cache is hidden in an old quarry by the roadside and not in a pub carpark. The area offers excellent views of Loudoun Hill to the east and Distinkhorn to the south. If you come back along this way in ten years time, Distinkhorn will be hidden by the newly planted pine forest.
