The ODoD bird, long thought to have been extinct, has possibly been spotted on Torrens Island (See In search of the ODoD bird - GC23BYW ).
Many explorers have ventured into this area in the hope of finding this bird.
One who had ventured further than any other was TiedyeSmiley Crusoe. On penetrating this wilderness some way, he was marooned during a storm and set up a camp. The area grew on him and he decided to forgo civilization and live in the mangroves permanently.
We know all this as a message in a bottle outlining these details and telling the world not to worry about him, was found floating in the Port River.
He gave the coords for his camp mentioning a blaze mark on a riverside tree nearby. He also included a couple of pictures of the way in.
If you follow the water to the published coords, you may be able to find TiedyeSmiley Crusoe at home and pay him a visit or even spot an ODoD bird along the way.
Others have unsuccessfully tried this way before including TiedyeSmiley Crusoe’s cousins, Mr and Mrs TiedyeSmileys (see the Wreck of the SSTiedyeSmileys - GC22NKV). Perhaps you may be more successful.
