Geocache Description:

Mattanohi used to be a water intake facility from the Yodogawa River.

Once water was taken from the Yodogawa River, the water was distributed throughout the area for drinking, agriculture and industrial uses. The Mattanohi facility was built in Meiji Era and used until Showa 5 (1930).

Today, those intake facilities have all been abandoned in order to prevent flooding. Mattanohi is only ruins you can observe as a monument of old civil engineering.

The cache is no longer hidden near a big tree. Instead, a magnetic cache is hidden at 38meters to South East from the listed coordinates.
