Geocache Description:

A offset cache with some good views of the Rhondda a short distance from the coordinates.

Coordinates are for some natural seating and not the cache location. - Terrain is a three due to the walk and the uneven surface.  
This cache is located on Mynnyd Y Cymmer where I used to play as a child. At that time the mountain (hill) was topped with an extensive spoil tip that had two ponds in the middle. It wasn’t a very clever place to play, but, hey those were the days.  The tip was removed in the late 70’s early 80’s  and now the remnant is “grassed” over. From the top and indeed around the edges are some very good views up and down the valley. This cache is located on a footpath that follows around the top of Graig-wen  make sure you follow the footpath around the fence line and stay away from the edge.
The given coordinates are a nice place to sit and enjoy the view from the East side of the hill but beware this is near the edge. From this vantage point head toward the nearest stile, after approximately 50m you'll pass between the goal posts (is a peg a post?) the cache is about 2m to the right.  There are several access point to get to this cache but you will need to  walk to the cache as there is no vehicle access. There is reasonable easy access to this hill top and it is used by many dog walkers but you will always see them coming from the coordinates or from the cache site.


Continue over the stile to N51 36.602 W3 25.489  and around to N51 36.552 W3 25.299  for some fine views up and down the valley and a short circular walk around the summit
