Geocache Description:

The silver birch, a native tree to Scotland, can be found all around our woods and forests. They are very distinct trees with delicate branches and small leaves, and their trunks silver and black making them very distinctive both summer and winter.

Their dead trunks are often covered in bracket fungus, and this cache takes you to one such specimen.

This cache can be approached from Gilmerton – simply follow the signpost at Gilmerton parking for footpath to Crieff. This path takes you along the edge of golf course at one point before returning under the canopy of the trees.

It is a level path from the parking with the cache down a steep slope, only 10m from path.

Cache is a 1.1 ltr box and the contents include.
