Fifth and final (before the bonus) of 6 (including a BONUS) This cache series will take you along Varteg and The Balance Circular walk towards Cwmavon, through woodland and emerging onto Varteg and returning via the Balance.
The walk will take you along the Viaduct, through Pen-y-lan wood; past the Old Jackdaw Quarry; through the now abandoned Varteg railway station; through a mature beech woodland, across Vipond's Top Pits; Past the ruins of the Lighthouse.
All caches may be completed as part of the series or independantly. For the bonus you will need to collect a clue from each of the caches to be able to work out the bonus cache co-ordinates.
Cache details: Small tupperware box that contains log book, pencil and sharpener plus usual small swaps.
The circular walk is on well defined footpaths, some of which may be unsuitable for strollers and wheelchairs (please refer to attributes designated for each individual cache for details).
