7 entrants in the Darth Trevor styled ice breaker had perfect
scores. The winner was chosen by a random catching. Yes, I said a
catching. I (KV19) folded the winning papers into squares, shuffled
them up good and called KV jr into the room. When he got close
enough I threw them all at him and yelled “CATCH!”.
With cat-like reflexes he was able to pull his hands out of his
pockets, sort of duck, and almost cover his face but only after all
of the papers already hit him. He recovered quickly enough to make
the winning catch.

Oscar Themed Geocaching Award Show
To thank and to honor the cachers who made ’09 fine with
all of the new hides placed during the year, the WSGA IE Chapter
will be holding an Oscar themed award show during the event where
winners will be chosen from those caches nominated in several
exciting categories! Can you say Woo Hoo!?!?
With all the great new hides out there, your help is needed to
build the list of nominees. Simply send an email to new.cache.nominate09@gmail.com
with the name and GC number of the caches you want to nominate in
the following Oscar themed categories:
- Best Foreign Language (Puzzle/Unknown)
- Best Screenplay (Cache Write Up)
- Best Documentary (Earth Cache or Event Cache)
- Best Visual Effects (Scenic View)
- Best Costume Design (Camo)
- Best Director (Multi-Cache)
- Best Supporting Cachetress (Micro)
- Best Supporting Cachetor (Small)
- Best Cachetress (Large or Letterbox Hybrid or Night Cache)
- Best Cachetor (Regular)
The winners of each category will be a random drawing of all the
nominations from that category. The Best Picture (Cache Hide) will
be a random drawing from all of the non-winners of the rest of the
categories. There will be prizes for the winners of course. Must be
present to win.
The cache must be placed in 2009. Caches placed in 2009 and have
been archived are also eligible for nomination. You cannot nominate
your own caches. The same cache can be nominated in multiple
categories. A micro can’t be nominated for Best Cachetor
(Regular) but it could also be Best Documentary and/or Best
Director if it is a multi-stop earth cache.

- Cache Related (Ammo can cake, bison jello ..uh..shots,
etc)
- Original Stash (Family recipe passed down)
- Nano (Bite size quickies)
- Virtual (Original photo or likeness. It would be a shame to eat
because it looks so good)
