Geocache Description:

My other obsession besides geochaching is blackpowder muzzleloading. I wanted my first hide to involve that passion. The cache is located by the entrance to the Bookcliff Muzzleloaders gun range. It is an easy cache just off the road. Any car will have no trouble getting there unless it's muddy. The cache contains a Bookcliff Muzzleloaders Powderhorn dangle for the FTF. Have fun and keep your powder dry.

In the mid seventys the Bookcliff Muzzleloaders gun club, headed by Larry Williams, Don Burge, and Sam Espinosa, was able to have 80 acres of land withdrawn from the B.L.M. The purpose of this effort was to construct a gun range with an emphasis on black powder shooting. Over the years thousands of shooters of all disciplines of the shooting sports have used the range. Many scouts have improved the quality of the range by doing approved Eagle projects there. Scout, 4H,and hunter safety groups have used the range for countless activities. The range is open to all shooters at no charge. We only ask that whatever you bring to the range you take home.
