Geocache Description:

On Te Whara Track in the Whangarei heads area. You will have to climb a rockface that is a reasonable climb. you will not require any climbing gear but it feels very exposed when climbing.... the small plastic contaier is in the ground when the rocks make a V. not at the top of the rocks but as far as you can go without going over the large crack.

The Bream Head/Te Whara track follows an ancient Maori trail from Urquharts Bay to Ocean Beach. Te Whara was the principal wife of the rangatira Manaia.

A reasonable level of fitness, skill and experience is needed to walk the main tracks at Bream Head Scenic Reserve. The hill access leading onto the Mt Lion, Ocean Beach and Peach Cove tracks are all steep.
