Geocache Description:

medium lock n lock. Please Note, due to tree cover could not get better than 15' accuracy. You do not need to cross the stream. Please cover well when replacing the cache

Dr Smith not only developed the Neutral Waters Health Resort in town, he also was involved in the construction of a canal from Landing Creek to the park. He also opened the Bungalow Hotel at the lake. In 1913 he leased from the city City Park including Gloucester Lake for 50 years. But 5 years later he entered into a lease with a Charles Regensburg who took control of the hotel. In a tersely written agreement Regensburg agreed to lease the hotel for hotel business only. No gaming to be conducted and no intoxicating liquor to be sold on Sunday. Dr Smith still had the right to over see the dancing facility and could use the same structure for picnics without charge. City Lake Park was to be the center of Egg Harbor City. The original plan for the city to reach from the rail to the river never happend and the the park is on the outskirts of the town. The hotel is long gone and the park is now used for swimming and fishing, and picnicing. There are camping facilities as well as roads and trails for exploring. Please watch for muggles, the park can be busy in the summer. If the muggle factor is high, please try again another time.
