Vaucluse House was originally built in 1803. It was the home to William and Sarah Wentworth and their 10 children. The kitchen garden was recreated in 2001 and grows heirloom fruit and vegetables in the original garden design. Vaucluse house is one of Sydney's best examples of a 19th Century home. Although there is a fee to enter the house visiting the kitchen garden is free to the public.

Planted in the garden you will find rock melons, pineapple, sugar cane, pot herb, Pumpkin "Turkish" Turbin, Jam Melon , Early Long Eggplant and Kale which is surrounded by a cactus fence.
