This is the first cache for scottch and steelie. We wanted to pick a location that brings back some great memories.
When we were young, our house used to be the second last house on Astral Drive and this entire area used to be full of trees. Our mom used to take us and our other siblings out for walks along the edge of Bissett Lake. Every outing was an adventure. Some days we would pick the blueberries and raspberries along the path. Other days we would head to the waters edge to skip rocks out into the lake. As night would approach, you could even see the fireflies light up. Of course at the end of all the outings we always seemed to make our way down to this little rock that jetted out from the waters edge where we would sit and just watch the waves and duck go by or watch the people fishing off the edge of the lake. We always used to call it the 'family' rock.
As the houses started to build up in the area we always wondered if the 'family' rock would just get swallowed up into someones back yard never to be visited again. Fortunately, that is not the case. It can be accessed down a path so as to avoid wandering through private property.
So this is where we decided to set up our first cache. Visit the rock and sit back to enjoy the view. There is a travel bug tag for the FTF.
Please enter the woods at the listed trailhead to avoid any private property issues.
Please be careful if doing this cache at night as the path is along the shore line of the lake and the rocks can be slippery when wet.
