The weekend will begin with a Friday evening Meet and Greet
(GC23QB2) sponsored by InKy & IndiGo. Join the crew in
kicking off the weekend. Grab a baked potato and spend some time
exploring the farm. Don’t forget your flashlight for the
Night Cache.
Saturday’s Fall Picnic will be an entire day and evening
of fun, socializing and events. The day’s activities
are:
REGISTRATION: Pre-REGISTRATION
is requested. Please include your geocaching name, given name and
age (if under 18) for everyone attending. This information
will be used to determine food quantities and creation of name
tags. Will attended logs on the cache page are encouraged but DO
NOT register you for the events.
PITCH-IN LUNCH: Once again everyone is asked to bring a
contribution for the pitch-in lunch. A pitch-in only works if
everyone who eats at the buffet has contributed. Pitch-in
contributions will be exchanged for meal tickets.
If your last name begins with A-H, please bring a family size
dessert. Last names that begin with I-Z, please bring a homemade
side dish. Food for thought ... Every year we received an
overabundance of deli potato salad, cole slaw and macaroni salad.
Please consider another option so we don’t have to throw food
away.
No grills will be available this year. The Boondocks Farms snack
bar will be open where hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, etc. can be
purchased.
If you do not contribute to the meal, you will not be given a meal
ticket so you may want to consider bringing a sack lunch or eating
at the snack bar.
DONATIONS, PRIZES & RAFFLES: Everyone is asked to bring
a donation for the prize table. Eighteen and older will be
considered an adult for the prizes.
So CHILDREN aren't left out, anyone with children is be asked to
bring an AGE APPROPRIATE donation for each of their children. These
will be distributed during the drawing for our younger
cachers.
KID’S SPACE: There will be no formal kid’s space
this year. Boondocks Farms is a kid’s space in itself. The
kids will be enchanted by Boondocks Farms animals and play area.
Don’t forget to take them on a hayride or wander through the
corn maze.
MERCHANDISE: Support the Fall Picnic. The sale of logoed
merchandise helps defray the cost of the picnic. For additional
information, please see the Fall Picnic website. Deadline for
pre-orders is August 23rd.
GEO-CHALLENGE (Ages 10-17): Have you wanted to get out there
with the Survivor contestants? Here is your chance to get in on the
fun. GeoChallenge offers you the opportunity to play a youth
version. REGISTRATION is required. Please include your geocaching
name, given name and age. Registration deadline is September
1st.
GEO-SURVIVOR (Ages 18+): Are you ready for a challenge?
REGISTER to put your name in the hat for a spot on one of the
GeoSurvivor teams. GeoSurvivor has always been the Fall
Picnic’s premier event. In celebration of the 10 Years of
Geocaching, look for us to bring back a few of the past’s
favorite challenges.
A drawing will be held to determine participants and will be
announced at the picnic kick-off on September 11th at 9:45am.
Please include your geocaching name, given name and whether you are
a male or female. Registration deadline is September 1st. All
participants MUST be at the picnic kick-off.
CACHERS' GOT TALENT: Cachers are some of the most creative
people on the planet and this year we are going to give you a
chance to prove it at Saturday evening's Cacher's Got Talent
competition. Cachers (of any age or experience) can complete in
three judged categories; Caching Limericks (keep it clean), FTF
Dance Competition (show us your best moves) and Open Talent Show
(open to individuals or groups.) Pre-REGISTRATION is required.

the category (or categories) you will be entering. Registrants will
be contacted with rules and details. Please check the IndiGo webite

LODGING: There are several types of lodging available in the
area. Local hotels are available in Knightstown and camping is
available at Boondocks Farms.
Camping it is a bit different than at past events. The farm has a
beautiful hard packed lawn for camping. Some electric is available;
however, you will need a 100’ extension cord for hook-up.
BOOK your site on the registration form and pick a spot on the map
posted on the Midwest forums. Additional information and cost per
site are available on the picnic
website.
CANDLELIGHT DINNER: The Saturday evening event will be a
candlelight Dutch oven dinner. Baloo&bd will utilize his
outdoor cooking skills this year preparing us a dinner.
Pre-REGISTRATION is required for dinner. Cost is $4.00 per
person.
DUTCH OVEN COOKING CLASS: A Dutch oven cooking class will be
offered during dinner prep.
BOONDOCKS FUN: Boondocks Farms has plenty of sights to
see and things to do. You won’t want to miss a walk through
the 10 acre Corn Maze or a hayride through the woods. You can
always gather some friends for a whirl on the 18-hole Disc Golf
Course. Of course, it wouldn’t be any kind of a farm without
a few animals to pet.
Boondocks’ owners have discounted the costs of the Corn Maze
to $5 (unlimited use), the Hayride to $5/ride and Disc Golfing to
$5/person for Saturday. Monies collected from these activities help
defray the cost to Boondocks for allowing us to have the entire
farm to ourselves for the weekend.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A picnic
website will provide additional information. New information
will be added as it becomes available. Keep watching.
Thanks to Boondocks Farms for allowing us to use their facilities
for the weekend. We are looking forward to a fun filled weekend.
Can’t wait to see you there.
