Geocache Description:

A YUM Series cache. YUM could mean exactly what it says, or it could be for "Why U of M".

Bring an extraction tool and writing tool. They can be the same item or two different ones. Please place the cache back carefully.

This spot has been around since 1953 and has been on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". They grind their own beef and have been an Ann Arbor staple for generations. Due to another big giant of Ann Arbor (YUM!? Y!?), this location will be moving some time in the future. (Summer 2013) Until then, this cache is placed here according to the geocaching permanence guidelines.

Geocaches are placed for the long term.
Cachers will expect your cache to remain in place for a realistic and extended period of time. Therefore, caches that have the goal to move (traveling caches), or temporary caches (caches hidden for less than 3 months or for one-time events) will not be published.

There is a "set of time-honored rules that must be followed when you order your meal, otherwise you may risk the scorn and derision of the cooks and be subject to groans of agony from the patrons in line behind you!" With 2,147,483,648 different combinations, there's plenty of options and plenty of opportunity to watch or even be the target of the scorn and derision!

This spot is also known as the place with the SnowBears in the winter. Perhaps you'll get a chance to see a few. It's really amazing! It's always a treat to drive by and see what they've done.

This cache is actually the original YUM cache (see hidden date) but ended up being the fourth one published. This was because I had the idea of turning all the caches into an event. Eventually I shot down the idea due to the high muggle factor of the series. Even with permission, seeing large groups of people loitering around probably wasn't the best idea.

Originally this cache was called "Bizarrely Brisk Gym Jump". See if you can figure out why. It's not as obvious as the name implies... or is it?
