Welcome to Frankfort, ME. Of course the spelling is not quite the
same as the city in Germany, Frankfurt. With that said, Frankfort,
Maine is the oldest town on the Penobscot River and at one time
included the current towns of Prospect, Stockton Springs and
Winterport. Frankfort's two highest points are Mt. Waldo and
Mosquito Mountain. Mt. Waldo was so-named around 1815. Prior to
that it had been called "Mt. Misery" because two young local men
who had attempted to climb it had been overtaken by a blizzard and
killed.
Frankfurt, Germany is the fifth largest city in Germany and the
largest in the state of Hesse. Known as Frankfurt am Main, situated
on the Main River, Frankfurt is the financial and transportation
center of Germany and one of the largest financial centers in
continental Europe.
A very straight-forward cache, it is BYOP
Congratulations to Mainiac1957 on the FTF!
