Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Goldthorpe Park in Saint Cloud. The park itself if rather land locked, in middle of a block, surrounded by homes, apartments and a nursing home. Access to this park isnt readily obvious. therenis a short paved alley off of 12th Avenue N. it appears to be a driveway but it is the path to this small park. Good luck.

I am not sure how this park recieved its name but I would like to think it was to honor one-time Minnesota Fighting Saint Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe.

"Goldthorpe grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is widely regarded as one of the most infamous hockey enforcers to have ever played the game, a man once dubbed the 'wildest, meanest, most unpredictable player in hockey'*, earning an amazing 1,132 penalty minutes in 194 professional games. He was the inspiration for the character Ogie Ogilthorpe in the 1977 film Slap Shot."
