Geocache Description:

In these trying times, many of us are called to do our civic duty. Now it is my turn. Unfortunately, I ran out of caches to find during lunch. "Woe is me!" I thought. Then, while doing the day's crossword puzzle, it hit me: there is no cache commemorating the landmark building from where my crossword puzzle came. Until now.

The Times Building, designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann, opened in 1935. The growing paper required more space in the form of four more buildings, the newest of which was built in the 1970s. Sadly, the architecture critic was off that day and this tumorous growth was tacked on:

What was once a classic building is now winning awards - for being repulsive. Curbed LA ranked it as the second ugliest building in the city in their Ugliest Building Contest.

For FTF there is a free* copy of the LA Times.
*Free on every day except Sunday.
