Geocache Description:

Located just before the waterfall at the end of the Kaipapa'u Gulch Trail in Hauula.

In order to get to the cache, expect to cross the stream about 35 times over sometimes very slippery rocks. At the end of the hike, you will be rewarded by a large swimming hole and a 100ft waterfall. Walking distance to the falls is about 3.5 miles, which should take you about 3-4 hours at an even pace. Though the first part of the trail is swarming with mosquitos, we found that there were none at the waterfall and we were able to eat lunch without losing blood.

This is what is waiting for you at the end!

We almost put the cache here!!!!

Prawns (& fish await in the upper pools)

The 100 foot waterfall

Lots of neat rock walls and formations

Always hike with a partner and let someone know your plan.Trekking poles helped me out a lot in the upper part of the trail as the water got more abundant and the rocks more slippery. Thanks to my friend for the company and taking the plunge into the icy cold pool!

Mahalo to Mental Bill for confirming the old cache got washed away and putting a replacement in a safer location (6/6/2015)
