Geocache Description:

The cache is placed in St Leoanrds Gardens in the area created by James Burton in the 1820's

This wonderful area of Burtons St Leonards was created by Burton in the 1820's from a area formly knowed as Old Womans Tapshaw.
It features some very nice building including the North & South Lodges. A Clock House and Burtons own house sadly now in private ownweship.

The writer HR Haggard lived in the North Lodge between 1918 - 1923.

The gardens were known locally for some time as the Blind Gardens as they were stocked with fragrant plants and had the name of these plants in braille. As there was a home for the blind close by. Sadly these have long gone now.

This cache is our 1st attempt so any feedback please. The plastic containner is medium size covered in camo tape. It contains the normal logbook and pencil, and some goodies including a Fare Token, Coin, Harry Potter Fridge Mag, Pen, Toy Car and a running Medal.

Please take time during your visit to walk around the area, and enjoy your visit.

Free parking around the area.
